Christmas and the Solstice have come and gone.
Ah, say what you will about our Jewish bretheren who partake of
Christmas, but there is nothing so inherently contradictory as an Atheist who participates,
however grudgingly, in Christmas. Christ. Mass. Right? Oh, dear bog.
Peer and family pressure over-rule, as our Earl is either further indoctrinated into the
Judeo-Christian environment or alternatively is becoming versed in the
environment that surrounds us, anyway. Know the enemy, Pogo or
otherwise.
Another bit of news is that I
received the compleat Book of Genesis for Christmas (appropriate, no?)
from my better half. Compleatly illustrated, along with some minor
contextual comments, by Robert Crumb. Delicious. My only criticism thus
far is that it is not labeled chapter and verse, so I can't quote in
this fashion (chapter only). Educational, no less, as I have a better
understanding of the context and meaning for the mark of Cain. Ya bo.
That is all, for the time being.
