I got my basic open water and advanced open water (with deep, night, navigation, search and retrieve, and wreck-diving) in 1998. This served as a temporary distraction while I was finishing up my thesis. There was a hiauts for several years, but now I'm back with a vengence. I finally picked up a complete set of gear from Blue H2O, from whom I received my training (they buy new gear every spring, & sell it in the fall, meaning that you can get fairly decently priced equipment to start up). I also bought a couple of used tanks from a scuba business down in Port Dover.

I also went through an NAS level I underwater archaeology certification, though lately things are a bit dusty (only in the water a few times a year). Ah, well, maybe this year...
